Synopsis
Michelin three-star chef Yeon Ji-young (played by Im Yoon-ah) comes across an ancient recipe book called "Mangwoonyuk." When she reads aloud the words written in it, "If my beloved someday reads this book, I hope you can return to my side," she is transported back to ancient Korea. There, she meets Crown Prince Yeon Hee, Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae-won), who is out hunting, and wins the tyrant's favor with a dish called "Creamy Spicy Pepper Sauce Bibimbap," becoming a skilled assistant to the Crown Prince. However, since the Crown Prince is historically known as a notorious tyrant, Yeon Ji-young must learn to survive in the palace. She faces ancient ingredients that are completely different from the modern ones she is familiar with, as well as palace intrigues. Although the palace maid Seo Chang-geum, who has an extraordinary sense of smell, helps her, Yeon Ji-young must find a way to avoid being framed and to return home. Meanwhile, the love words written in "Mangwoonyuk" and the torn page titled "Returning to the World Meal" could reveal hidden stories.
